Free Color Consultations Provide Confidence

Two lovely families took advantage of the free color consultation service I provide once a month, at Sherwin Williams paint store in Quakertown, PA.

The first family came with sports ball wallpaper border in hand. Their eight month old son loves balls. Dad loves the Philadelphia Phillies and their robins egg blue color. (I could totally relate. My son, now 29 years old, was and still is the ultimate Phillies fan. His room is currently robins egg blue). Mom and Dad had a hard time agreeing on the shade of blue. We narrowed it down to the color that best complimented the border; SW 6507 Vast Sky, as the unanimous choice. They showed me a picture of their adorable son, and left smiling.

The second couple brought a pillow sham for their inspiration piece. They are a newly blended family with a total of 7 children. It is really important for their new master bedroom to be a relaxing retreat. Rick wanted dark brown, and Ann Marie was looking for a lighter tan. After much discussion, they agreed on my selection of SW 7701, Cavern Clay for the walls, and SW 7552, Bauhaus Buff for the ceiling. They were surprised when I suggested that the ceiling should not be white, but quickly saw how the buff color related better to the clay color, and would give the room a warmer and more relaxing and calming feel. Ann Marie was noticeably relieved and commented, "I wouldn't have been able to do this myself, but with your confidence in the color choices, I am confident that both Rick and I will be pleased".

What a great morning at Sherwin Williams. Two families agreed on, and are happy with, their color selections. They both promised to send me pictures of their finished rooms, of which I would love to see. But, the real reward is knowing that the color selection process was made easy and gave them confidence. 2010 Motivation and Joy!

It's a brand new year, time to plan for the exciting year ahead of us.

"Take time to find your joy, and ... share it with others!" a quote from Mac Anderson, author. This motivational quote has inspired me to create this blog.

I love design and believe that design is powerful. Good design will give you a space that reflects your personality and a space that functions for your life style needs. A place where you can breathe and be yourself. Bad design (ex: a design that does not meet your personal style and needs) can stress you out and depress you, without realizing that it is the cause.

My joy is creating good personalized design ... and sharing it with others!
